2018
David and Owen work at the Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) in Berlin and gain insight into the fragile supply chain for isotopically pure materials. This leads them to the idea of founding a startup specializing in isotopically pure semiconductors.
2023
The team wins the Lausitz Start-up Award (LEX).
2024 - 2026
Through the “HoCHQuant” project, the team is receiving funding as part of an EXIST research transfer program at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.
2026
quantum grade materials [qgm] GmbH is established on January 1, 2026.
